After completing his apprenticeship as a motor mechnic in 1975 Ross started at McIver's Carburettor and Auto Electrical Service at Stacy Street Bankstown. It was during this time that all the Aussie muscle cars were everyday drivers. For the next 3 years Ross honed his skills reconditioning carburettors and re-graphing disributors and dyno tuning thousands of Toranas (SLR 5000s, A9Xs, SS Hatchbacks, XU1s), Fords (GTs, Phase 1/2/3 Falcons and Fairlanes), Valiants (R/T Chargers, 318/340/360 Hemis), Holdens (HK/HT/HG/HQ Monaro 308s, 327s, 350s) as well as a large number of American Muscle cars (Chev Big and Small block: Camaros, Buicks, Mustangs etc) and European Sports and Exotics (Jensens, Jags, Alphas).
